Help shape the future of the BC Arts Council
There are currently three vacancies on the BC Arts Council.
New members are sought to play an active role in shaping the direction of policy, programs and funding for arts and culture in British Columbia.
Collectively, council members set the strategic direction for the BC Arts Council and provide stewardship for the delivery of the Council’s mandate and public funds for arts and culture. Council consists of up to 15 members broadly representative of the regions and the artistic communities of the province.
Consideration will be given to qualified individuals with a broad range of backgrounds in arts, culture, community, and business environments. The selection process will recognize lived experience and volunteer roles as well as paid employment and other achievements.
To reflect the diversity of our province, and reflect the BC Arts Council’s commitment to reconciliation, equity, diversity, inclusion and access, women, visible minorities, Indigenous Peoples, persons with disabilities, persons of diverse sexual orientation, gender identity or expression (LGBTQ2S+), and others who may contribute to diversity are encouraged to put their name forward for these appointments. Council is particularly interested in applicants from within its Designated Priority Groups policy, including underrepresented regions of the province.
Appointments are made by the Lieutenant Governor in Council. You can learn more and apply through the B.C. Government website.
