BC Arts Council welcomes Roy Henry Vickers as Elder-in-Residence

We are thrilled to welcome Roy Henry Vickers as the inaugural Elder-in-Residence within the BC Arts Council. Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport Lana Popham, along with Council Chair Sae-Hoon Stan Chung, joined Roy Henry Vickers in Tofino today to mark this important step for the BC Arts Council.

This role was created to recognize the importance of Indigenous perspectives and self-determination. BC Arts Council’s work towards equity and reconciliation will be supported by the Elder-in-Residence role. Roy Henry Vickers will also be supporting community projects and providing mentoring opportunities for Indigenous Artists.
