BC Arts Council welcomes three new members
We are thrilled to welcome three new members to the BC Arts Council!
- Marnie Hamagami, Prince George
- Melissa Lee, Vancouver
- Nika Collison, Skidgate
All three members were appointed for terms ending July 31, 2026. The council currently has 15 members, which represent the regions, cultural diversity, and artistic communities across B.C.
“Congratulations and a warm welcome to the new members of the BC Arts Council,” said Lana Popham, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, and Sport. “The council has an important role in promoting a lively arts and cultural community, while also advancing diverse representation and meaningful reconciliation efforts. I am excited about the ongoing progress in this crucial work, and I look forward to working with the newest members of our impressive team.”
“BC Arts Council has demonstrated exceptional leadership in promoting fairness, equity, diversity, inclusion and reconciliation,” said Bob D’Eith, Parliamentary Secretary for Arts and Film. “The expertise and ingenuity the council offers are vital to building a strong and resilient arts and culture sector in B.C. The addition of these new members will bring creativity and innovation to the council, benefiting the entire arts and culture sector.”
“BC Arts Council is very lucky to have the voices of these three arts and culture leaders,” said BC Arts Council Chair Sae-Hoon Stan Chung. “Their work will be instrumental as we launch our new Strategic Vision this summer. I want to thank each of them for putting their names forward to support the Council and arts practitioners across the province.”
