Containment of COVID-19: Update on Required Measures

To focus efforts on containment of COVID-19 in British Columbia, provincial health officials have implemented the following measures:

• EVENT CANCELLATIONS: Event organizers are required to cancel any gathering in British Columbia with more than 50 people (view joint statement here).

• GLOBAL TRAVEL ADVISORY: Federal authorities indicate that Canadians are to avoid all travel outside Canada, including to the US. Stay apprised on the Government of Canada website here.

• RETURN FROM TRAVEL PROTOCOL: For travelers who leave Canada, they are requested to self-isolate for 14 days upon return based on consultation with the policies of their employer during the COVID-19 outbreak.

• WORKPLACE RECOMMENDATIONS: Workplaces should consider social distancing measures, please view the Ministry of Health webpage for information and latest updates as well as the Centre for Disease Control resources for Employers and Businesses.

The Province has also launched a website with all non-health-related information on COVID-19. 

The Province is also providing daily updates on the COVID-19 situation.
