Haley Bassett is the Executive Director, Peace Liard Regional Arts Council, Sunset Prairie, B.C.; Mentor Bin Top Artist in Residence, Dawson Creek Art Gallery; and Founder/Coordinator for Northern Arts Community Development Program. Previously, she was a Writer at Northern Arts Review, and At Instructor at Dawson Creek Art Gallery. Active in her community, Ms. Bassett is a director with Arts BC. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the Jim Prentice Memorial Endowment for Women in Remote Communities from the Banff Centre for Creativity; Indigenous Artists Program, First Peoples’ Cultural Council; Distinguished Award, Juried Regional Art Exhibition, Peace-Liard Regional Arts Council; and Opus Art Supplies Graduation Award from Emily Carr University of Art & Design (ECUAD). Ms. Bassett holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from ECUAD, and participated in a six week intensive drawing and painting workshop at Florence Academy of Art, and a Visual Arts Foundation Program at Northern Lights College.
A member of Council since July 10, 2023, her current appointment ends July 31, 2024.
